On Saturday, May 4th, high school students from the greater Chapel Hill Carrboro area shared virtual reality games and 360 experiences they had created with the public at their 2nd Annual Showcase.

During the event, in addition to student-made Virtual Reality experiences, the Next Tech Team set up a Sphero pen and a Lenovo representative let visitors enjoy 360 videos in Daydream headsets. AVID students from Smith Middle showed visitors how to draw visual code for Ozobots, how to code Cue Robots with Blockly, and demo’d a flight simulator. At the CCEE’s table, we showed kids young and old to build their own games with Bloxels and explore augmented reality with Merge Cubes. It was a fun time and kids young and old had the chance to explore a wide range of tech experiences from high to low. Hopefully the CCEE will be there next time, too!
