Every week, the CCEE hosts “Genius (Lunch) Hour” for Smith Middle School students. Students eat lunch and spend the rest of their time exploring the technologies and creative tools the CCEE has to offer, enjoying less structured exploration and learning characterized by play.
Each week has a set theme or area of study.z Genius Hour Activities have included creating choreographed dances for Ozobots with code, composing original songs or tracks in GarageBand, exploring underwater worlds in Virtual Reality, learning how to code using Apple Swift in Swift Playgrounds, as well as designing 3d models in Tinkercad to print on our 3D printer. Fun and engaging, we let the students and their interests inspire us and always seek to provide new learning experiences each week.
