Chess

Sign up for competitive chess lessons at the CCEE. Students will learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and cognitive thinking. They will build confidence and be ready to compete against other local chess players. Chess is a great way to help develop a process for strategic planning, thinking under time pressure, and learning while having fun! Chess helps children learn cognitive skills, such as counting, problem solving, and planning ahead. They also learn non-cognitive skills like waiting your turn patiently, building self-esteem, and how to win or lose gracefully.
