This is an ethics protection/violation prevention course for middle and high school teachers and administrators. It is not intended for educators or administrators who are dealing with disciplinary procedures. The purpose of this course is to reduce a teacher’s or administrator’s violation potential. The degree of learning that takes place for this course depends on one’s truthfulness in their responses.
Ethical violations erode public trust and confidence in the integrity of the teaching profession. This course has been created with the knowledge that all professionals have a violation potential that dynamically changes in response to professional risk factors and personal vulnerabilities. Most teachers are unaware of these factors, which explains why an ethical educator can commit an unethical act during a susceptible period in his or her personal life.
For its primary purpose, this course will guide you through a reflective experience that will bring understanding to your violation potential. As you gain insight, the program will automatically create your individualized Stratified Ethics Protection Plan for the maintenance of a low violation potential and a safer teaching environment.
